Who's the fool now?
Of course I want you to look around here - but you really should check out The New York Public Library & The Lighting Archive's Theatrical Lighting Database. If you're interested in lighting history (and I know you are), you'll dig looking at Tharon's hand-drawn Chorus Line plot, etc.
It's not what you know, it's what you can figure out with a pile of old binders, a bunch of old files, a high-speed connection and enough monitors to get an even tan.
Nothing here is earth-shattering, ground-breaking or new work, but hopefully it's one place you can go to find the information you need more quickly than if I had grown up to be "tubafool". Because of my specific background, this site leans toward theatre and the New York area, but that's a pretty broad market and much of the information is universal.
I will continue to build this beastie in my "spare" time. If there's a site (yours or someone else's) or information you'd
like to see linked or posted, let me know - no promises, but I'll try. If anyone needs pictures of *specific* theatrical lighting items, let me know. I've got waaaay too many already (even if most are not posted here), and I'm always a little too eager to take more. I can't promise I'll be able to find the item, but the odds are good.
Having trouble navigating/viewing the site, or you found dead/bad links? Send me email. Want to say hi? Maybe you'd like to give me a nice old Victorian house? Please don't let me discourage you.
Note: If you've been here before, you'll notice that the site has been redesigned recently - it looks best in Firefox, or ye olde IE for Mac. IE for Windows seems to be hit and miss depending on the configuration; I'll resolve the display issues soon. In the meantime... download Mozilla FireFox. I think you'll like it.

While every attempt has been made to provide accurate information on lightfool.com, much of this information is compiled and/or hosted by others, manufacturers commonly change specs without public announcement, some "standards" are regionally or industry/market specific, and I could just be plain wrong. Before risking money, time, or personal safety - read the owner's manual, consult a professional, ask the provider of your gear, and consider the information logically.
